Harlequin Mystery Class
It's almost time! No pictures! No spoilers!
The Harlequin Mystery Class will begin soon!
Choose from 3 sizes, Wall Hanging, Lap Quilt,
or Bed Runner! You will need to
bring your Sewing Machine, Rotary Cutter - with a fresh blade,
Rulers (6x12 and 9x9 - or bigger - suggested) and Mat to class.
Don't want to pick out fabric for the class? Not sure you want to
invest a lot of fabric before knowing the outcome? No worries!
Kits will be available at retreat for both trying the technique
and for making the final projects!!

Fabric Requirements:
30” x 30” Wall Hanging
⅝ yd of Black (tone on tone is ok)
⅝ yd of White (tone on tone is ok)
1/6 yd (6”) each of 5 dif. Bright prints
34” x 34” piece of batting and fabric for backing
45” x 45” Lap Quilt
1 ⅓ yds of Black (tone on tone is ok)
1 ⅓ yds of White (tone on tone is ok)
⅓ yd each of 5 different Bright prints
50” x 50” piece of batting and fabric
for backing
30” x 75” Bed Runner
1 ⅓ yds of Black (tone on tone is ok)
1 ⅓ yds of White (tone on tone is ok)
⅓ yd each of 5 different Bright prints
34” x 80” piece of batting and fabric for backing
Picking fabrics out!!
For the background fabric you want high contrast. I used Black and White.
This would work with any color combination as long as the 2 choices are a big difference!
I like using tone on tones but solids work for this too!
For the 'pieces' you can choose any 5 different bright prints. They can be most any scale, from calicos to larger florals/geometrics etc.
Batiks are GREAT for this quilt!
